Late morning. Fatima is assembling an EVITA silk shirt, pressing each seam before the next one is stitched. Stop, press, move on, with the patience of someone who knows how silk wants to fall. The boiler iron hisses: a wonderfully temperamental, old Italian beast that came to us via the closing down sale of a factory that also contributed a few more of our machines and half of our team.
Alex is threading up to stitch a sample detail.
I love the minimalism of this one. Clean and easy to wear. It feels inconspicuous and looks super glamorous. It's named after our friend Marina in Lisbon, the most glamorous woman we know, and I'm wearing it in FADO, her least favourite music in the world. Forgive me, dear friend.
SHOP THISThis is the piece I wear the most, I've worn it almost every day since we finished the first sample, through the loops of my jeans and over dresses. Today it's cinching the MARINA. The beautiful hand stitching gives it presence, and it stays subtle.
SHOP THISGlamour in simplicity again. It's so light that I've often left the house sure I'd forgotten it, then found it around my neck. And the PERIDOT is spectacular: muted, yet almost blindingly vivid.
